About
Plot is a year long project that brings together growing, art, food and glimpses into an uncertain future. Plot was initiated by artist Caroline Wright and is supported by a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company.Over many months, the Plot has been a place where several visitors have tilled the soil and spoken about the land. It has been a source of inspiration for a new body of work in paint and ceramics. Objects that have emerged from the soil as it has been turned have been documented in drawings, and vegetables have been distributed to neighbours. Research visits to Kew and Hyde Hall gardens revealed the extraordinary ways plants develop to survive over time. These specialist gardens and the unprecedented drought in summer 2026 informed ceramic pieces, which, together with a collection of paintings, will be exhibited in Unearthed at Asylum Studios, Rendlesham, Suffolk, from 18th to 27th September 2026.
